As 2012 drew to a close I was working frantically to produce some celebratory ideas for the maiden voyage to the Caribbean and South America of Voyages of Discovery's lovely new ship,m.v.Voyager. How aptly named is that? Weighing in at just over 15000 tons she is smaller than her stablemate m.v.Discovery and with a shallower draft she is even more capable of visiting unusual and remote places in the world. Sheila and I were thrilled to be invited to help show her off to a specially invited group of guests including the press and travel agencies just before she sailed on the 4th December, all of whom were most impressed with the contemporary look of her newly refurbished public spaces. We can't wait for our next trip in April, when we revisit the Baltic. As this has a musical theme, I'm already starting to plan a painting or two with the idea of melodies... who knows, I might manage to put "A life on the Ocean Wave!" into paint!
